1 Up next.... Valentine's Day

Trying to get ahead rather than be behind on Valentine's Day crafting.  Having fun with paper, fabric and thread!

These Pocket Hearts are perfect for family and friends, but wouldn't it be nice to hand them to someone who is down and out, feeling ill or unloved, homeless, or just needs a hug?

Details in listings in my shop.

0 Merry Christmas!! A shirt for you, and a shirt for you, and you, and you....

Merry Christmas!  I hope all are enjoying your holiday.

Here's some of what I gave for gifts this year.  Was in shirt-mode!

(For the one that tends to mutter a few choice words under his breath now and then ... a sweat shirt with an F-bomb, plus I included a few paper F-bombs for when he just needs to drop one!)

(for the one that is always, always, always watching  YouTube videos!)

Had a lot of fun making these shirts.  I don't have shirts in my etsy shop yet, but thinking about doing it.  For those of you that like to buy directly from me, I'd be happy to chat with you about a custom order.. or just convo me on etsy.

0 Thanks Giving. Made by G Free Shipping

Hello.  Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.    I've been busy adding things to my shop and trying new things.    I've added some gift bags, pot holders, ornaments and snowballs!

How cute are these snowballs?!??

I've got a few more faces to work on, but there's a good start and each one is as cute as the next.  They just make me smile.

and hats are available, too.

Right now my shop has a 15% discount on 2 or more items until November 30.   In addition to that, you, as readers of this blog, can get free shipping using THIS LINK or if you forget and use another means of getting there, use Coupon Code ROYALTHINGS.  The free shipping coupon is good till the end of the year.

Here's a few of the several more items in my shop.

Keep checking the shop for new items.  I'm working on it.  Or if you see something you like but would like different fabrics or colors, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

0 Trick or Treat, Lunch or Snacks....

It's almost Halloween.  Amazing how fast the year goes.   I've been working on these cute little lunch box bags or purses or gift bags... whatever you need it for.

It has a nifty drawstring top to close it all in and it folds flat for storage.

Here's another one in blue and green.  This one has a ripstop nylon lining giving it a food safe interior and, as the name indicates, it's resistant to tearing.

Both in my shop .    Also, in my shop, my backpacks, bags and coasters are free shipping month of October.

0 Sewing more .... do I want an iPhone 8?

Happy Fall!  Must admit it doesn't feel like it here as it's really hot!  Have been spending a bit of time outside watching my oldest granddaughter play travel and school softball.  I love watching the games; reminds me of when my daughters were on all their travel and school teams.

When not at a game or at work, I've been spending my time at the sewing machine.  I had made a drawstring backpack for the above mentioned granddaughter to tote her team uniforms back and forth and after tweaking that backpack and trying a couple more, I settled on what I think is a useful and extremely roomy bag.  I've got several more planned with some fun fabrics I have, just looking for the time.    Here's some of the bags I've completed.  More on my etsy site

This backpack is great for many reasons, but my oldest granddaughter's other grandmother is a breast cancer survivor so this is pretty special to her.   Would be nice for many outings, but very appropriate for the many trips to doctors when fighting this disease.

There's plenty of room inside but I added a big pocket on the outside.

Inside has a smaller pocket suitable for a cellphone or wallet and a hang tab for a key ring or sunglasses - things you don't want to hit bottom and have to fish around for later.

Wouldn't the one on the left be fun for a trip to the zoo!? This one on the right has fabric called fireflies and really pretty in person

I just finished this gorgeous asian fabric one above and the bright flower one below.

I also have one with green spots (great for Halloween trick or treating) and one in Batik blues/greens on etsy.  Hoping to add one or two new ones every week.   They'll make nice Christmas gifts.   If you are looking for one in a certain theme or color, let me know; I may have something you like.

I've also added  a couple more coaster sets to my store.

You may notice I've titled my etsy shop, Made by G.   Almost all of my sewing has been for my grandkids that call me G, so it just seemed logical to continue the it's 'made by G' into my shop.

So, about that post title  .........If I sell some bags/coasters, wondering if I want to get the iPhone 8 :) ..... did you upgrade?  Is is awesome?  I'm still using a 6s Plus and it's working just fine, but I'm really wanting the 8 Plus (justifying this want for it's photo abilities so I can get better quality shots for my blog/etsy).

1 Happy Birthday to Sapphire! and a little creativity....

Sapphire's first birthday!  A womping 2 pounds 11 ounces big!      She's a really good dog and her funny personality makes me laugh all the time, especially when she just sits like this and stares at me.

Been a long time since I've posted so I'm sharing a few things I've been working on.  I came across some pyramid or teepee cards online and recreated them my way.

This first one, a Halloween one, is about 5 inches tall when standing and has a snap closure.  I'm not thrilled with the thickness of the snap so I'll probably move on to magnets or velcro.

It does have room inside to write a note though it does seem awkward doing it with it's shape and being somewhat bowed.

While it folds flat enough to mail, it doesn't fold entirely flat due to the layers of folded paper.  It fits in a 5 x 7 envelope.

My second pyramid card is a basic Hello card, but I went a little bigger.  This one is about 6.5 inches when standing, but still fits in a 5 x 7 envelope.   I used a magnet on this one and it does fold a bit flatter.  I reworked how I glued it and that, too, helps it close a bit flatter.

While these two cards are perfectly fine, sellable and givable, I'm still tweaking the design some. I really like the looks of them standing.

I've also been doing a bit with my sewing machines and made these coasters, a couple of which are halloween.  They are 4" in diameter, quilted fabric with thread lace edging.

Fun changing fabrics and thread colors.

These are available in my etsy shop, if interested.
